I know you all are sick of me talking about sugar..but I need to ask...
Because when I give my body a constant flow of sugar, my bladder symptoms calm down, and I hardly have to go to the bathroom all day.
As soon as I no longer eat sugar for 24 hours, my bladder symptoms get horrible and stay horrible the entire time I do not eat sugar..even if that is 3 weeks.
Then, the hour I eat it, bladder gets happy again.
I quess I am concerned I have blood sugar problems and what if my body Needs sugar and that is why I am peeing? I have been to doc in past and my blood fasting level was normal, but I am not sure all that can tell.
I keep thinking it was yeast, but now I am wondering about blood sugar problems.
Do any of you experince this?
I cant wait to talk to Matia about it in a month!
Thanks all!
Melissa
Blood Sugar
Melissa, I think blood sugar problems are very common since most of us were raised on sugar. I struggle with low blood sugar. If I eat sugar, I seem to feel sleepy right away. I have noticed that it is improving the longer I stay off of sugar. If your bladder symptoms change dramatically based on what you eat, it is possible that your symptoms might get under control pretty fast in treatment. The diet creates an environment for healing. The herbs/probiotics are doing most of the work. I found that it was really helpful getting the diet under control before visiting Matia. Then I could focus on taking the herbs since the diet came more naturally for me. I eased into the diet over a few weeks.
I know very well what you are
I know very well what you are talking about... However, lack of sugar is not causing your over all problem.... You have to remember, that yeast is a living organism that when under stressful conditions will secrete stress hormones similar to when we secrete adrenaline. When yeast die off, they secrete these hormones which in turn poisons your body which in turn makes you feel crummy which in turn makes you want to eat sugar. I have a BS in general biology and we used yeast all the time as a model for our studies including gene sequencing and hormones.
I have struggled with yeast now with Matia for almost 4 years. I have cheated so much and I have finally came to the realization why: DIE OFF SUCKS and I don't want to experience it and I fooled myself for so long thinking that it would go away... All the time I thought this, I believe I have driven the yeast further into my body and now I am paying the price.
I can guarantee that even if you go to a Western doctor, no credible doctor will tell you to eat sugar. You absolutely need carbs and I think you are confusing sugar with carbs. The only energy source your brain can use is sugar... it is the only thing besides alcohol and drugs that can cross the blood brain barrier. There is PLENTY of sugar in all of the foods Matia recommends.
Most Americans these days are so insulin resistant. Look at the old way you eat and add up all of the carbs. I am sure it exceeded what is necessary to stay healthy. One becomes insulin resistant when they eat too many carbs. What happens when you eat too much sugar, is insulin levels rise rapidly causing the cells in your body to uptake all the sugar floating in your blood. Then after that has happened, there is no more sugar in your blood because it is inside all of your cells... Then you have a crash, because no sugar is in the blood that can get to the brain. This causes the cravings for more sugar. it is a viscious cycle.
What most people do not know is that insulin is a master controller for many other hormones... case in point... when your cells take on a lot of sugar, they become fat and then in turn a person becomes fat. This is very bad for women because the fatter all of the cells are, the more estrogen receptors grow on these cells, causing imbalances in hormones. The cruelty of it all is when you have more estrogen, you encourage fat growth... This is all caused by increases in insulin.
Yeast also releases many hormones similar to human hormones... One of them is a hormone signaling the brain to eat. Our brains can't differentiate where this hormone comes from... it just knows "you should eat"
it is super tough to do what we and you are doing... Believe me... I go to bed hungry haven eaten sooo much on Matias diet... I know those times are when I go through die off.
I know also for me... when I eat sugar in particular, it releases serotonin (the feel good hormone) In studies it has been found that when people are injected with serotonin, they are able to tolerate much higher doses of pain then those who are not. Perhaps in part, that is why you think you feel better when you eat sugar.
No doctor is going to tell you this because they want to simply get you in and move you out. Good luck... I really am right there with you... It is hard... Embrace what you are doing as being difficult, but certainly not insumountable. I visualize myself as an athlete training for competition... All they eat is protein and greens.
Good luck!
Jeanette
thank you
