Dealing with other health problems

I'm in treatment for 8 months now and was feeling better the last couple of months.
3 weeks ago I fell and forced my neck, I never thought that this would give me big problems but since I fell I'm having constant pain in my neck and headaches.
It will probably be a whiplash and this will also take time to heal, but I'm feeling so discouraged by these extra pains.
My general practioner told me that it would probably get better after a few days, but it's not getting better and I think that my muscles are so tense now from all the stress.
I want to relax but I can't, I'm completely stressed and don't know how I can let go of this feeling.
I know I'm making things worse but I just don't know how to relax.

Did anyone have to deal with other health issues while going through treatment?

I am sorry you are in so much pain.  I had a bad neck problem in the past after a car accident.  It took going to a good chiropractor for a year to get back into balance. The pain did not last more than a month after I saw him two times a week, but I kept going for a year. Maybe you could ask Matia about seeing a good chiropractor during treatment.

Thanks for your advice. Now I'm going to a fysiotherapist/osteopath 2 times a week, he told me that it will take time to heal.  I've never been to a chiropractor, maybe I can try that if the rest won't help, thanks.

Hi Vicky sorry to hear about your pain.  It sure can cause stress on the body when you are in so much pain.  I can relate.  I just recently had to have a partial hysterectomy which caused my pain to increase along with stress.  I have started going to pelvic floor therapist a month ago and I do now think that it is helping (sure was painful at first).  I did tell Matia she was not too keen on it but none the less supports my decision.  Let Matia know what you are doing and follow your heart re; what you think your body is needing.  I hope your therapy will help you.

Sorry to hear about yr fall Vicky. I've heard chiropractors are more gentle than osteopaths, can u find one who is recommended? I saw an osteopath once and he really hurt me (ouch!) - this was before the IC. I guess it depends on the individual osteopath as well. Do hot baths help u relax at all? I find a hot chamomile bath really relaxing and I find it eases tense muscles. Hope u feel better soon.
