Matia started me on 1/2 cap of step 2 natren along with the rest of my regimen last week. yesterday all day I was in a flare and real tired. My husband and I were intimate and used protection. Things got worse after that. Then, I had 2 BM's in 3 hours. Very abnormal for me, usaually I am constipated. I have gas as well. I was excited because I thought step 2 was working. Then, after the BMs all hell broke loose. burning bladder, peeing every 10 min, no relief after I pee, up all night peeing, strong smelling pee, chills, and sweats, and my kindeys hurt. I sent Matia an email this morning. my question is do you know if Matia does anything different when you have an actual bladder or kidney infection? Did anyone have this happen when they began step 2 natren? Today is going to be a long day..
Sorry, no advice fo ryou but
Sorry, no advice fo ryou but wanted you to know I am praying for you! That really stinks! I know how bad that is. I am sure Matia will get back to you soon and be able to help.Lots of love....Becky
Infection
Can you have your regular MD check to see if you have an infection? Maybe the Natren's is just irritating your bladder?
MD
I cant get to the doc, I am in way to much pain to leave. I can have my hubby go get the AZO infection test strips at CVS. I will post what Matia says when she responds.
she responded
she thinks its the 1/2 cap of step 2 natren. To go down to 1/4 and see if its helps. I asked her if I could take Azo urinary relief tabs, but I already know she might say no..worth asking though.
Probiotics
I remember when I first started on the bifido- I flared really bad! I could not tolerate the bif in the amount we started with- there are times when the herbs or probios can bring out increased symptoms and they can feel very much like a UTI but in fact you do not have a UTI. However, it is always a good idea to check- because you can of course develop a UTI during treatment especially from activities of intimate nature. But I bet it is def the probiotics. We reduced theamount to a tiny level and it made a HUGE difference. It took 6-7 months for me to tolerate a whole capsule of bifidonate. I have had times where the probios made me feel really crappy (even though they were doing the dirty work I needed them to do) and times then the probios were making me feel actually quite awesome! so hang in there and get that right amount- sometimes its so exact that even a difference can be felt in how many sips you are taking! light and healing to you!Mary
good luck...i hope u get some
good luck...i hope u get some relief...i am sufferin w a crzee yeast infection...i thought it was bacteria but matia said no...hope u feel better soon..
Oh dang! Yes, there are
Oh dang! Yes, there are somethings that make my bladder gooo wackay! Bifido factor is for the large intestine I believe which makes sense cause it can push up against the bladder. When I added step three in (digesta lac) I was CRAZY frequent. I get funky pains in my kidneys some times as well. Are you either ovulating or near your period? This can just add gasoline to the proverbial fire. Just make sure your diet is super super good and drink lots of water (that is sooo what you wanted to hear right?) Good luck sweetie! It will pass, even though it feels like a temporary set back, it actually is not, it is good.
Period
Thank you for your replys, its CRAZY how sick out bodies are..just when I think I am stablizing, this hits. Yeah, I am getting my period in a few days..so that is adding fire to fire. I am down to a 1/4 of the bifido..hopefully I can tolerate it cause its really helping with my constipation.
btw
She did say no to Azo, said it would not work anyway. I have had 2bms already so far today too! That is insane for me, so I KNOW its the Bifido doing something down there.
So you had sex and you're
So you had sex and you're about to start your period? Sounds like that alone, separate from protocol change, could've caused things, esp if sex is a flare-causer for you.
And yes, Bifido at the start made me go #2 like crazy too.
Hang in there, that feeling is the worst, but everyone's right Matia will get things back on track soon.
Sex
I have never been a person to flare because of sex, but I also do not do it very often because of all the general discomfort down there..so I suppose I could be starting to flare from it. Also, when I do its not usaully right before my period. So, I guess I will have to stick to more of a scedule, NOT by my period...sorry hubby
I always flare from sex but
I always flare from sex but its never very bad and it is always just the one day after sex usually never any more.
better
I am already doing much better then last night and this morning, Moving down to 1/2 cap helped!
Awesome! Good for you! That
Awesome! Good for you! That is great news! xo
Yeah!
So glad to hear you're doing better already!!! Yeah, there I went again, forgetting how different we all are, incl being able to have sex or pain levels through our cycles, was looking at things from my narrow scope, as for me sex causes chaos and before my period is the worst. But congrats on being able to have sex at all! It's good to hear others are able to have sex w/o (too much) pain, gives me hope for the future. It's such an added strain on marriage on top of all else.
Anyway, keep feeling better! (Did you actually have a bladder infection (as it's your post subject) or it just felt like it? I didn't realize you could get such intense pain from a protocol change.)
infection
Yeah, sex does not hurt for me between days 5-16 in my cycle. Then, I feel discomfort the rest of the month, but not usaully such a terrible flare. the hard part about sex is I have to pee so much, we need to stop every 10 minutes so I can get up...so annoying. Anyway, no I did not have an infection. I thought and was SURE I had one, and I did not..It was all from the supplement change, and most likely the sex, and my period all at the same time. I even had chills, sweats, and pain in my kidneys. Matia said it was die off. So, my "infection" may have been one but it was the actual infection in my body coming out...This IC is SOOOOO confusing!
Wow..what a trip! Thanks you
Wow..what a trip! Thanks you for sharing it with us as it helps one to identify with your experience and to know we're each not alone with it. I am so glad there's improvement.... The good news is Matia says this is die-off. We know that die-off takes time BUT gets better..soo you can be sure things will improve with the process. Well-Done!
Whoa
Whoa - crazy! What else can i say?
