Hey All!
WOW! Iam having some crazy weird eye pain- its like my eyes are sore and exhusted and swollen. I know it must be partly from my computer addiction -as I spend waaaay too much time on them for work and play and its got to be a factor but my eyes feel inflamed and I'm thinking this could be a die off thing. Anyone else get this feeling? I think my liver is struggling cause I've been both emotionally moody and angry and now this eye stuff- ( both are related to liver issues in TCM) so if you suffer from this- aside from resting your eyes from glares and light what helped this symptom? Any IC safe suggestions would be super helpful and appreciated! much love
Mary
So happy the website is back!
So happy the website is back! I wanted to bump up this post from the lovely Mary because I have been experiencing just this...... Crazy sore eyes. The soreness moves from the eye muscles to the eye lid, but has not affected my vision- only that I am sensitive to light. Anyone else?
I absolutely think it is connected to the liver. Would love to hear your thoughts and/or experiences.
Hi Katie! I agree, so nice to
Hi Katie! I agree, so nice to have the site back up and running! :) I have troubles with my eyes too, but more in the evenings. They get more sore and burning. I totally agree with your thought on the eye issues being connected to the liver. In Chinese medicine the eyes and liver are linked. I have always wanted to ask Dr. M more but usually have so many other things go on I always forget to mention my eyes. There was a point in treatment where I could barely keep my eyes open because my eyes felt so sensitive and watering all the time. Thank goodness it was only really really severe for a week and was on vacation from work for most of it, because it was awful.
Katie I have had a thing
Katie I have had a thing where it feels weird to close my eyes at bedtime for a few minutes. Like I can feel my eyeballs moving behind my closed lids. Weird and it bugs me. I have felt them be a bit sore too. Must be liver! Which makes sense because your bladder/kidney meridian is stronger now and maybe you have moved heavily into liver detox mode. At least things are moving which I think is really good. We have many layers of healing to do! I guess it will be done when it is done!

Both of your responses are very helpful and encouraging to me. It always helps to feel you are not alone in some of these oddities that come up. Mimi- Is the liver detox/meridian deeper than the bladder line? I didn't realize there is a sort of succession?
Christina- I hope with all my heart the pain has lessened for you;)

I have had problems with my eyes too. I have it mostly at night and the left eye is the most problematic. My eyes will weep at night or the left eye will be so dry. It's crazy! They have been great though the past ten days, and I sure hope they stay that way. When my left eye is dry I moisten it with water, even in the middle of the night. I also keep a wet tea bag by my bed and find that to be comforting. Love to you all!
Katie I am not sure of the
Katie I am not sure of the order of things as far as healing layers. That would be a good question for Dr. B. But I do know that my bladder and liver were detoxing with the Juice Plus I was taking, and now I am a bit backed up and my gall bladder and liver are working hard and you can see it in my eyeballs as the veins on the outer corners of my eyes are more pronounced (my eyes have been red on the inner corners for years and the outer corners were more clear-now it is all a bit of light-pink mess). Dr B said the pronounced veins implies my body working hard but slow to detox. I also think the body can't detox everything at once so different organ systems take turns. Interesting to look at the orientalmedicine.com site too to review the governing organs.

Good Evening Ladies,
Good Evening Ladies,
I thought I would circle back and share that three days ago I woke up and poof! .... Eye pain is all gone! I am sure it will come back intermittently, but it has been my experience in treatment that once the initial symptom subsides, it is not as strong subsequent cycles.....at least, here is hopin;)
Wishing you all a pain free night,
Katie
