I have had bad diarrhea for almost a week. After several days of no improvement, I looked online and found out that I was supposed to be on a liquid diet until my stools formed. If I had tried this earlier, I think that my condition would have improved several days ago. Hopefully, this tip will help some one else.
While ill, I made a fantastic soup. I took six yellow squash (peeled and cut). Then I covered them with water and boiled them until tender. While the squash was boiling, I sauted minced chicken in butter. When the squash was tender, I mashed them with a potatoe masher. Finally, I blended the soup with a blender and added the chicken. Season with butter and salt. It was a great comfort food. This soup could be made with or without the chicken. My husband got the idea after eating a butternut soup at Whole Foods.
Yum...
This sounds like a very good recipe. I will have to try this! Thanks so much for sharing.Kelsey
I made this last night...
I peeled and cut yellow squash in about 1/2 pieces (about 6 cups), and steamed for 10 min. Then I threw squash, 1/2 stick salted butter and 2 Garlic cloves in my blender.... it turned out very very yummy! I have a Vita Mix, so it made it really smooth/ hot and frothy but any blender would make this a great soup. Or potato masher! Thanks again Sharon.Kelsey
Cool recipe!! Thanks for
Cool recipe!! Thanks for sharing! Will look for squash on Monday but I don't think it's the season here...I find that drinking hot water first thing in the morning and throughout the day really helps too. I got that tip from ayurvedic medicine.
