Does anyone have any experience with a nonhormonal IUD? Matia suggested it as a possible birth control method, but I feel like there are a lot of horror stories out there. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I have never had one
But was really considering one about 8 months ago. But after some heavy research, I decided no, and I will never use one. I do know two people, my sister in law, and my good friends sister who had one, and just in the last few months had it removed. Both were having such bad pain with it in that they couldn't take it anymore. One had cysts the size of an egg on one ovary, and had a miscarriage with one in a couple weeks ago. My sister in law said when she went to have it taken out, the nurse said it had never been in right anyway, and was stuck in the side of her, so it was very painful to remove. SO, after reading all about women having things like this happening, and worse, and then knowing people who say never get one, I won't.Birth control can be such a pain!Kelsey
if your going to do that I
if your going to do that I would go with the ParaGard I think the Mirena messes with your hormones mores. the paragard is copper basied. I personally just use condoms when my pain alows me witch isn't often.
Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
Is an AWESOME book. My boyfriend and I also went to a class on this method (FAM)--it was $250 and well worth the money. It takes a bit to get used to it, but there are no side effects and it's really effective.
