I was wondering if any of you, ladies, have gotten dental implants before or while in treatment with Matia? I recently had several of them placed in my lower jaw (just had no other choice), and then started reading articles on metal toxicity, and got really scared. I feel that I should've done much more research BEFORE the procedure, even though there is not a single dentist in my area, who could've done zirconia ones instead of titanium, so I am not sure if I really had other options! Has any of you had any problems afterwards or execerbation of IC symptoms? By the way, my bladder was OK before the procedure, and is still OK now, but the info on Web is comflicting and scary.
Hmmm,I wonder...your post
Hmmm,I wonder...your post makes a lot of sense but I wonder is it something maybe to ask Matia about. With myself, I had an implant put in May 2010 and the final stage of it done in September. A month later, I came down with an UTI which never really went away and it was in reality IC. I never ever made any connection between that and my IC but when I look back, all of 2010 was just one illness after another, so I dont honestly think the implant was the main factor, it may not have helped but I feel it didnt cause it.
Have you ask Matia about this? If it is any help, when I was getting my mercury fillings out, I asked the dentist about my implant and he said that that was safe, it was the mercury that can contribute to bladder and kidney problems.
Taz, thank you! I got myself
Taz, thank you! I got myself really stressed out with all the reading, so I asked Matia today. She is very reassuring, she told me that even if I did have a sort of "titanium allergy" (which is extremely rare), once the body is balanced, it will no longer be an issue. And also, since I already had one implant done 2 years ago with no problem, these should be ok too. But my anxiety is out of control and I have these muscle/joint pains now that I don't remember having before, and of course I am thinking they these are signs of metal toxicity :). I'll tell you, fighting IC for years has made me frightened of every twitch I feel in my body. I was always a hypochondriac, but now even more so. BUT through all of this my bladder is holding up!!!
Natasha,When I ask Matia
Natasha,
When I ask Matia about metal fillings, she said there are fine for now. When I read on the topic I can't help but want to replace them. There is overwhelming information to support that.
This is not been discussed with Matia, but there is a metal toxicity test you can do by cutting a little bit of your hair. I have not done it. It would be nice if you had something to compare the results with, i.e., numbers before implants, but anyway, it still may be useful because they have established limits. Reputation of the test lab or doctor is of high importance, of course.
Are you still in treatment or already graduated?
Taz, I opened a new topic about fillings. Please visit it. Thank you.
