Hi all,
I have been off the pill for about a year now and since then I have had a great improvement in my cycle. I now have an actual flow again, which is something I haven't had for years.
Except, the past few months I haven't been as regular and this month I am about three days late. I am experiencing some dark brown spotting and cramping, but no period. I suppose there is a chance I could be pregnant, but before I go out and buy a test,I thought I'd check if anyone has experienced anything similar?
My symptoms have been all over the place this month, so Matia and I have been fiddling with my doses every few days. I wonder if that could have contributed to this? I have been seeing Matia for 8 months.

In my experience and what others have said who are in treatment; having irregular periods is something that can happen a lot in treatment.
My cycle was doing really well for about 6 months during treatment after it had been really terrible before treatment, but then for about 3 months it was really bad. I didn't have a period for over 2 months, with one day at a time with light spotting. I felt terrible... but we were doing a lot of switching around with stuff. I am sure that is why. Matia always said she could make it come for me... but would like it to be a last resort because of my bladder. Finally it did come to her adding some things in to help it come, and this last period started on the exact day it should. After going through months of wondering what the heck my body was doing, and terrified that I was pregnant at times, it was so nice for it to come on time.
Just make sure you email her this and see what she says.
Thanks Hopeful
My period actully came when I woke up this morning. I am speaking with Matia next week, so I will make sure to mention this then.
My cramps are normally debilitating and cause a huge flare, but seem to have calmed down this month. So I can't really decide if this is progress or not, given the lateness.
This is such an interesting ride.
periods
Yoooo. FYI. 3 days of lateness isn't technically "late". check out tony welscher's book "taking charge of your fertility", she explains the whole thing. the second stage of your period (the luteal phase) is the part thats set each month, but variations in the first part are quite normal. Most ladies have between a 28-35 days cycle.
I know you're in the city Annie, I took this class (its 6 weeks) with my partner on the "Fertility Awareness Method". http://www.fertaware.com/contact.html It explains all of this stuff or you can get the aforementioned book for 2 dollars on Amazon.
I second Toni Wechsler's
I second Toni Wechsler's book! It helped me with my infertilty. Should be mandatory high school reading!
You girls are swell
I ordered the book and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. Classes are on hiatus though! Boo,
Thanks for the tips.
I see some of you have late
I see some of you have late periods. My periods are always earlier, I have it around every 23-24 days which is regular, but this time it is two weeks late. I wonder why this could be? No pregnancy issues, so let you know. May be I was traveling last month and the weather change? And I had cold/flu , low immunity symtopms during that time ???
