I am trying to understand my Hashimoto's/IC connection and one person I have been talking to off forum has told me that a gluten free diet is the way to go. I would like to hear from anyone that's had/has hashimoto's and is in treatment with Matia if they had to go gluten free to get rid of their hashimoto's and their IC.

I have mild Hashimoto's (low antibodies) and have struggled with hypothyroid. I'm currently in a pretty level place with it after working with Matia on different herb/supp combinations. My bladder is also feeling good.
I had also heard about the gluten connection, and I tried gluten-free for a while but it didn't seem to make a difference. I also got tested for Celiac disease and it came out negative. So, it may or may not help you, but in my case it didn't.

Did you ever have to take medication for it? Do you have a goitre too? And one more, how long did you go gluten free for?
Thanks

I took both Synthroid and Armour. The Armour helped for a while until they changed the formula, and then I stopped taking it because it didn't work the same anymore. I don't have goiter. Sometimes I have a little pain in that area of my throat, but nothing more than that. It comes and goes. I'm sure if you have goiter it makes it a more pressing issue.
I was gluten-free for about 6 weeks. I think that's how long they say it takes for it to get out of your system, and at that point since it still didn't seem to make a big difference I stopped doing it. I still don't eat much gluten anyway, but it's more because too much wheat still makes me bloat.
