Hi everyone,
I'm 2.5 years in treatment and I think I'm going through a new round of die-off since a few weeks. I'm having itching in my face, my eyes, a sore throat, vaginal itching and burning, feeling very tired... Do many of you get periods of new die-off after a few years of treatment? I don't mind bad stuff getting out so I don't want to change my herbs yet if these are new die-off symptoms.
Thanks,
Vicky
die off's
I've had die off symptoms off and on during treatment. They come and go depending on what I am taking at the time.
MORE die off
Hi Vicki, I've been doing this a little more than a year - a baby compared to you :). I will have times when feeling pretty darned good. Then I'll get floaters again - crazy vaginal and rectal itching - that had stopped months ago. Then, for awhile, everything will feel really sticky down there - kind of a never ending process. What I hate the most is when after weeks of no symptoms the bladder and urethra will be bothersome for a few day.
I was kind of curious, how often do you check in with Matia?
die off
Me too! I've been in treatment 3 years and I just got a nasty itchy rash taking up the space between my elbow and my shoulder. Yuck!! Also sore throat, exhaustion etc.
Yes it's really frustrating
Yes it's really frustrating when you have been feeling quite well for some time and then all of a sudden you feel worse again. It's the same for me, the urethra has been doing ok for some time and now I have this irritating vaginal/rectal itching again. But it means that we still have to get stuff out of our bodies, actually it's a good thing...
Researchnerd, I also have an itchy rash in my face (on my forehead), the itching sometimes makes me go crazy, indeed yuck!!
Denise, I don't check in very often with Matia anymore, I had been doing quite well on a certain combination of herbs (from bomamed) and just continued taking this combination and I send questions by email sometimes. But now I'm planning a new appointment. Do you have regular appointments?
Vicky
I haven't checked in with Matia for four months - as I'm also doing well on the combo that she has me on. I had checked in with her for several months and she didn't change my protocol - So, I couldn't justify new appointments. Do you know how long you can go inbetween appt.'s and not have to fly back out there? I e-mailed Lynn the question and haven't heard back. I do want to touch base with her just to keep in touch.
Thanks,
Denise yo
Denise- Not to be up in your grill, but you should make appointments as often as she says to. Like right now, I have to have them every month. Before I had them every 2 months. Sometimes she doesn't change stuff, and sometimes she does. There's this idea in Chinese medicine that health isn't static, its constantly changing. You won't be on the same formula forever. I would email her to figure out when your next appointment should be. I think you only have to see her once and then you're good forever.
Vicky--Oooh forehead is rough. Last summer I got it on my neck and the summer before that, on the tops of my thighs. Its so gross and itchy.
I also am too tired to do ANYTHING. It's seriously hindering my productivity.
Yo back
Hey you - the last time you got up in my grill it was over Coffee! :) I believe that I'm speaking to someone who shares my boyfriends last name - kind of birdlike? Don't want to give it away if you don't want me to. This is the thing with me - due to the fact that I can't take estrogen - due to previous estrogen positive breast cancer - I have somewhat limited Dr. B in what I'm comfortable taking. So much of Chinese herbs have estrogen like qualities. In truth, they probably won't harm me - but oncology freaked out. Thus, like her, I am at a bit of a loss - she did not tell me when to check in again. I am trying not to feel like a lepper about all of this. And THAT - Ms. F - is the rest of the story.
Just wondering if fatigue
Just wondering if fatigue ever gets better.
ooooooh
Haha correct! I'm havin' a coffee as I write this. Hehe.
Oh thats a bummer! Why not email her to ask?
Jeez Cancer and IC? Did the IC come after chemo? Yowza. Double whammy of suck. How many years are you in remission?
blondy
It certainly does. I have been feeling fatique almost a year on treatment. Last 3-4 months I feel like my energy level increased, don't feel tired ( knocking on the wood now:)
Energy
This is something I've struggled with on and off. I think the detoxing can be very draining.
BUT the last few weeks have been much better so it does come back eventually. However i'm sure thats not the end of it.
I found the Bruce Fife book 'The healing crisis' to be very good at explaining the effect of detoxing on the body. Very easy to read too.
