Hi Everyone. I have been moved to list 2.Hooray! It has been 3 weeks & I have tolerated everything I have tried:) My question is Matia has said on a few occaisions that the diet list is a road map and not a complete list. I have tried both mozzarella & prov cheese. numerous times & am fine. what are some more mild cheeses that I can try???? any advice or ideas for list 2 would be greatly appreciated.

Vitamin D

Forums:

Hi Everyone

I have been on Vitamin D for a few weeks now and I would love to know the purpose of it in relation to our treatement for IC.

I know its a big part of Dr B's protocol for some of us and I wish I asked at my last apt.  I did try it initially about a year ago and couldn't tolerate it then but seem to be OK now.

I read online somewhere that it can boost the immune system so I wonder if that is the reason but if anyone has ever asked this I would love to know what Dr B's response was.  Although I do appreciate it could be different reasons for each of us

Falling off the bandwagon - how to cope?

Forums:

Dr. B says we all go through ups and downs, and that I shouldn't beat myself up for cheating (though I should try not to do it, of course). My commitment to the diet's been slowly dwindling for the past 3 months, and now I feel so lame and like such an idiot for not being more committed! It's my health after all -- the only person I'm cheating is myself here!!

BomaSense Product Reviews/Recommendations

Forums:

Hi all,

I'm looking into buying some BomaSense products but was hoping to get some recommendations from people before I go investing in buying a few things.

There seem to be a few body moisturising options. Does anyone have a favourite? Trying to decide between Lotion Vs Calendula Cream Vs Jojoba Oil? I'm not sure which to get or do they serve different purposes? I'm looking for a good all over body moisturiser for dry skin as well as something for my face that isn't too greasy.

Head congestion

Forums:

I'm so tempted to go to the sauna to relieve the head pressure.  I'm sure this is inflamed sinuses & I know it's a good sign that this is happening.  It seems to improve the more sleep I have - 10 hours seems to preferrable over 8, not easy for an insomniac!  Of course I've read that drinking more fluids can help to thin any mucus.

Whats' the problem with using a steam room or sauna, does anyone know?  My own thoughts are that damp heat could make bacteria populate & is home to fungus..

Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

Bread

Forums:

I just realized that the spelt bread I've been eating the last 2 months

(Rudi's) has yeast in it. The other one that I keep at my Moms (French Meodows) has wheat. What is right & safe & what did I do to the healing process with this mistake?.... No wonder it tastes so much better:)))) ugggggggggg!!!!!

I thought I would be one of the few people that goes through treatment with a steady improvement  then healing. It was a great thought but not me. I guess it makes me stronger that I have to work HARD for everything I really want! It has been a near impossible 2 months with my protocol constantly changing & only finding fleeting relief periodically. I am now off of 2 of the 4 prescription drugs I was taking. My frequency at night is back uo to 3-4 times & that is very discouraging... Especially since my kids will be starting school in a few days & I won't be able to sleep in.

Accute UTI - how to handle during the treatment?

Forums:

Hi,

as I mentioned few days before, I´m going to become a new patient of Dr. Brizman. And I wonder how to handle accute bladder and kidneys infections during the treatment. They occur sometimes in me (for example after sex or in case of temporarily worse hygienic coniditions). I am not talking about the worsening of the chronic symptoms now, but about the sudden and heavy infection which can affect and damage not only bladder, but kidneys too.

Flying long distance to see Dr B. - Tips for flights with IC?

Forums:

Hi everyone,

I've had IC for about 8 or 9 months now and am so excited to have made the decision to fly from Australia to LA to get treated by Dr B in a couple of weeks!

I was hoping some people might have some good tips on how to deal with IC flare-ups should I have one on my 16 hour flight. My IC is not super super bad and I am lucky enough to have some good days but it's unpredictable and I'm trying to think of the best way to try and stop it from flaring up on the flight and am after any other tips for flying with IC.
