So, I have been doing list one for about two months now with minor deviations. Have gotten serious about it within the past month. HOWEVER, before I even started the diet, I cut dairy, gluten and soy out of my diet since I had had previous uncertainties with these foods.
When I was tested for allergies my gluten sensitivity was borderline BORDERLINE intolerant. As in, to be classified as borderline intolerant I would have needed to test 13, and I tested 12...
I'm sure this is just a part of the whole picture and nothing to worry about... but I have had low blood pressure (I usually do, but it's been lower than even normal) for the past few months now. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, was it easily addressed/not a big deal?
Hi, I just have a quick question. I'm waiting to see Dr. B in April and I'm not currently taking any medications. I'm also on list one of the diet and have been on it a few weeks (except I'm including avocados and the odd cashews/almonds!). I've been having a lot of spasms in my bladder thought the last few days and it's feeling now like my whole pelvic floor is in spasms! Heat seems to help but I can't be taking showers or using a hot water bottle all day! I know Dr.
So, since starting the diet, I've actually gotten reallyl into cooking.
I figured, well, I've been wanting to learn to cook and bake for forever, now I have to make virtually all my own food... now's a good time.
On list one, so the options are limited, but I'm experimenting with different types of baking, broiling etc. just the basics. For most people I guess this is totally unexciting, but I came from the classic American family where the microwave was used far more than the oven :/
Having IC is horrible and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. But even out of bad things comes some good. These are things that I've learnt/gained from having it over the last few years.
1. I never take for granted now a day that I am feeling "good". Even if i'm doing something as simple as going for a walk, spending time with my family or being able to watch a movie without having to think of my bladder, I enjoy every minute of it! I'm much more conscious of being alive!
I've been really good about the diet (for the past week... I have yet to clear a week without cheating). I've been getting into cooking and baking foods I can eat. It's been really great.
My appetite is enormous, and I find myself munching on celery and cucumbers ALL the time in order to avoid putting something less acceptable into my mouth (because when I'm eating the celery and cucumbers what I really want is raspberry mousse or chocolate pudding...). It's been difficult.
Just got started back on vitamin D, hoping I tolerate it better this time around. So far so good, but only on day one! I have been deficient for quite a while, and never really knew how much vitamin D had to do with more than just our bone health! I was searching this site, and no one seemed to know why they were put on vitamin D, so did a google search and found this short article on all the body functions vitamin D helps control! Thought I would share, I found it interesting!
So I have been unable to find any of the appropriate spring water brands listed on the gentle products guide in my area. I did however just look up the mineral content and ph levels of the brands on the product guide and found that Deer Park, which is the best water available around me, and the water my family has always had anyway, is virtually identical to one of the brands listed as acceptable (Poland Springs).
What do you all use for effective cleaning products? I'm talking counter tops, bathrooms etc. I find my skin gets all itchy and irritated if I use the really strong chemical stuff, I'm assuming I'm not the only one.
I used vinegar and tea tree oil today, but it just wasn't getting out the tougher stains. I didn't see anything listed on the gentle products guide.
