New patient

Forums:

Hi my name is Amy. I have my first appt with Dr B at the end of June. I'm excited & scared. A few questions Any tips on traveling & being comfortable? I am flying from NY to LA and worried about the long flight. Also are there safe places to eat when staying there? Any suggestions? When you see Dr B does anyone have some advice to make the most of the visit... Not forget all your info. 1 hour 30 min doesn't seem long enough:) Did you start the protocol immediately & what was your body's reaction the first couple of weeks?

Bonding

Forums:

I am really fascinated that so many of us have poor bonding issues- usually with our mothers. This is a continuing issue for me even though my mom is now 84 and a sweet old lady. She did not know how to parent and we got hit a lot. I think this leads to a negative attribution bias which I really want to move beyond. Has anyone had good success in dealing with this issues and if  so, what methods worked for you.

Thank you!

Allergy Shots

Forums:

Here I go again. I am 53. I have had fairly severe allergies and sinusitis since I was 34. I went on shots in my 30s and it made my be able to get through pollen season without being on antibiotics for 3 months. God have I taken a lot of antibiotics. I so regret that.  Meanwhile, I continued to develop food allergies until I had about 20 or more at the last testing. Shots obviously don't work for that. Dr. b has advised me to go off my shots and of course, i want to do that but I am scared. Has anyone been on shots and can you give me any feedback about stopping?

Tomatoe, zucchini omelette for list 2

Forums:

This one is so simple and tasty, you can practically make it fresh every morning.
Cut half or 1 zucchini into 1/4" size pieces. Melt the butter in a pan and add the zucchinis. When it absorbs the butter, I add a teaspoon of olive oil. Add sea salt.
Sautee until slightly brown on one side. Then cut 1 tomatoe into small cubes and add it to the pan, add a little more sea salt to let it water down. Add the eggs, mix it, i add a bit more salt and that's it. It's pretty tasty and goes good with a slice of rice crackers. Enjoy :)

Resource for Hot Packs (for pain relief)

Forums:

Hey Ladies,

I just wanted to let you know of a website that sells microwaveable heating pads to help with pain relief.  They are specially designed to fit over the abdominal area.   I have one and I love it.  One caveat: they sell a strap that you can buy separately so that you can wear it while standing up, but I tried it and it doesn't work well for me.  I just use it when I'm laying down, and it works well for that purpose.

They also sell other products that might be helpful to some of you.

List 1 taco meal

Forums:

Just need to share with you a hot tip for a List 1 meal!

List 1 taco meal, I call it...:)

We do homemade tortillias (spelt, oil and water)

We then prepare either red meat or chicken with salt and garlicpowder.

We have lettuce, cucumber, zucchini.

I steam broccoli and cauliflower and then mix it together with butter.

I also fry an egg or two, as scrambled egg.

Then, we eat it like you normally eat tacos at home, with all the ingredients.
